Kwame Asante Ababio, known in the music business as Jah Shanti, hails from Santasi, a suburb in Kumasi, Ghana. He discovered his passion for music at a very early age. He started by singing and playing instruments at church. He also had a strong love for reggae music. He has mentioned names like Samini, Capleton, Sizzla among others as people he look up to. In his High School days in Opoku Ware, he usually sang reggae songs in his class when there was no teacher around. His mates listened to him attentively. He had not yet looked into recording his own songs. However, when he relocated to the U.S.A, he made a friend called Blackid, who then introduced him to music recording. His debut recording was a feature he did on Reezon's song, called Badmind. From then onwards, he has released hit singles such as Say A Prayer, Nuh Fraid, Crazy World, and his current single Sweet Suh, which was produced by Mobeatz (Producer of Skolom by VVIP). He also do covers, notably his cover of Justin Bieber's Sorry and E-40's choices. Within the first 2 years of his career in music, he has performed on some recognized stages. He has performed at various University events such as the Fashion show at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne. He has also had to opportunity to perform alongside Samini in Chicago when he (Samini) was touring The U.S.A. The world should look out for this youngin' named Jah Shanti!
